With so many bags to choose from on our site, it’s hard to know which one to pick. Each week we will spotlight a different bestselling bag to tell you about it’s attributes. This week we picked the B. Knowles Studded Luxurious Cowhide Leather Bag:
We picked this bag because it’s simple structure and quality leather make it a stand-out among other bags. We love the rows of studs that adorn the outside, which elevate this bag from simple and chic to sexy and mysterious. It’s endlessly versatile; the kind of bag you can carry anywhere and to any event. It’s perfect for a night on the town with the girls, on date night, at a fancy, formal event, and even at the office.
This bag deserves the spotlight because of its quality construction and affordability, so we are bringing you three different ways to wear this bag:
What was the one coveted toy that everyone but you seemed to have when you were little? A Super Nintendo? A Gameboy? My Pretty Pony? A Barbie Dream house? Whatever that coveted item was, you were not happy until you possessed it. Whether you saved up your allowance, or bugged your mom and dad, or requested it from Santa, I bet you can still remember what it felt like to finally own the toy of your dreams.
“It” bags are like that for fashionistas. We see them everywhere, and everyone seems to have one but us. Then the cravings start, and if we’re not already maxing out our credit card to get them, we’re certainly dreaming about them at night. All of this fuss and desire and money spent brings us to an overwhelming question: What’s so special about It bags? And, furthermore, what makes a bag an It bag?
Technically, an It bag is a designer’s best-selling bag. Whatever bag generates the most sales is deemed an It bag. Yet, when stylish women around the world are ready to trample down the doors of Yves Saint Laurent to get their hands on a YSL Muse, we know that there is more to it than simple accounting. In fact, designers are able to make sure that their bags generate huge sales through some very clever marketing strategies.
All major design houses are involved in something called “seeding.” Seeding is a marketing tactic whereby top celebrities, stylists and entertainers are given the latest bags for free (this tactic also applies to the free distribution of other design goods like clothes, shoes, jewelry, and perfume). As annoying as it is that some of the wealthiest men and women in the world are given luxury items for free, marketing teams do this for one major reason: creating buzz. If a celebrity or model is seen photographed with the bag, it’s worth millions of dolalrs in sales.
There are many things that go into the making of an It bag: luxury, quality materials, a great marketing team, high cost, and status. Status is what we think we’ll have when we can afford to carry around the same bags as Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham.
It Bags become status symbols because of celebrities!

Unfortunately, as much as we might want to own an It bag sometimes the cost is prohibitive. Instead of shelling out thousands (yes, some of these bags cost as much as $50,000) or getting put on a wait list for five years (seriously!), most fashionistas now turn to designer inspired bags. We carry a huge selection of designer inspired bags so that you can wear the trends and own the covetable It bags without spending your year’s allowance on them.
